Google Pixel 6 series: Specs, price, and other details revealed

Google is set to launch the Pixel 6 series on October 19. This will include the Pixel 6 and the Pixel 6 Pro. The launch date was confirmed earlier this week. Ahead of the release, a Reddit user has leaked the listing of German retailer Saturn, which has reveal some of the key specs, features and other details of the upcoming Google Pixel 6 series phones.

The retailer revealed the price and details about the Google Pixel 6 days ahead of its official launch.  The listing also shows information related to benefits available on pre-order. Rumours are that the company will run a pre-order until October 27.

The listing also suggests that the phone will come in black and white dual-tone finishes. Additionally, the leaks reveal that the Pixel 6 series will have  dual rear cameras, fingerprint sensors, and facial recognition technology.

As per the latest reports and leaks, the Pixel 6 series — including Pixel 6 and 6 Pro — will be powered by Octa-core Tensor Chipset. Some of the other features of the upcoming Pixel 6 smartphone could include — triple rear cameras, a 6.4-inch full-HD+ flat screen, a 90Hz refresh rate, and more.

The Pixel 6 Pro, however, is likely to include a 6.7-inch QHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The Pixel 6 will also have with facial recognition feature.

As per some rumours, the Pixel 6 smartphone will come packed with a 4,620mAh battery, with support for 33W Type C port fast charging. It will support Android 12 OS out-of-the-box, an in-display fingerprint sensor, and features  like Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, NFC, 5G.

As suggested by the retailer, the upcoming Google smartphone will come at a price of EUR 649 (roughly Rs. 56,100) for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. In October last year, the Google Pixel 5 was launched for EUR 629 (about Rs 54,500). However, it is to be noted that the Pixel 6 series will not launch in India for the time being.

Google is hosting a virtual event at 10 am PT (10:30 pm IST) on October 19. A dedicated Pixel Fall Launch Event webpage is created, which showcases the Pixel 6 series. There could be other products coming in as well.

The app also has a Fullscreen Snip option to capture the entire screen as a screenshot. The steps to take a screenshot on a Windows laptop are given below.

  1. Press Windows logo key + Shift + S together. You’ll see the snipping bar on your screen.
  2. Select among Rectangular SnipFreeform SnipWindow Snip, and Fullscreen Snip.
  3. For Rectangular Snip and Freeform Snip, select the area you would like to capture using the mouse cursor.
  4. Once captured, the screenshot is saved to your clipboard automatically. Click on the notification you get after capturing the screenshot to open it on the Snip & Sketch app.
  5. You can make customisations and use tools to adjust your screenshot, such as crop or zoom.
  6. Now, click the save icon on the app to save your screenshot.

MacBook doesn’t have a preloaded app or support for capturing screenshots using a dedicated button. Below are the steps that detail how you can do that.

  1. Press Shift + Command + 3 together to take a screenshot of the entire screen.
  2. A thumbnail will now appear in the corner of your screen to confirm that a screenshot has been captured.
  3. Click on the preview of the screenshot to edit it. If you don’t want to edit it, you can wait for the screenshot to save to your desktop.

Connectivity features could include 5G, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS. The smartphone will also have USB Type-C port for charging and data sync.

Moreover, Pixel 5a would have  an IP67-certified build that would be available in  black colour option. The device is said to have a huge battery life of 4,650mAh .  Also, it will come with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for security and will feature a square-camera module similar to previous Pixel phones along with dual sensors and an LED flash.
