Micro-blogging site Twitter has rolled out a new feature named, “soft block”. This is a feature that would allow any Twitter user on the web to remove a follower without blocking them. This is different than blocking someone, which keeps them from viewing your tweets and direct messaging you.
Twitter’s new remove follower feature is more of a remote unfollow button. It is a gentler way to create some distance between you and someone else on the micro-blogging platform.

Steps to remove follower on Twitter without blocking (Soft Block)
To soft-block a follower or to remove a follower without blocking them you need to follow these steps.
- Head to your Twitter profile.
- Now, click followers.
- After that, click the three-dot menu next to a follower
- Then, click the option “Remove this follower”.
Further, the follower you remove then have to refollow you to see your tweets on their timeline and if you have protected tweets, they would need your approval to become a follower again.
Additionally, the follower you remove won’t be notified of the change. Earlier, to have someone unfollow you without their knowledge, you would have to resort to blocking them , which is when you manually blocked and unblocked someone.
Now, the micro-blogging site, Twitter, is also testing new prompts on iOS and Android that warn before users jump into a conversation that could get heated.
