PlayStation 5 October restock: where to pre-order PS5, price and more

PlayStation 5 October restock happened today at 12 PM IST in India. Both variants of Sony’s latest generation gaming console — standard and digital —are up on pre-orders in the country.  Sony launched the PlayStation 5 Standard and Digital Edition globally in November last year. These gaming consoles were released in India in February earlier this year.

For the unaware, this is the eighth time since the official launch earlier this year that the PlayStation 5 will go on pre-orders in India. However, it is the fifth restock of PlayStation 5 Digital Edition.

Considering the demand for PS5 has always been high, past instances can repeat during today’s restock as well. There have been many issues with PlayStation 5 restocks in India since the first pre-order earlier this year. The same may happen this time as well. There have been instances wherein retailers merchants websites including Amazon and Flipkart were not been able to handle the massive demand which led to the cancellation of several orders.

As far as pricing is concerned, the PlayStation 5 Standard Edition comes at Rs 49,990. The Digital Edition comes at a price of Rs 39,990. The Sony Center website states that the gaming console will be delivered on October 12. Other retailers have not revealed shipping details yet.

The real reason described by Microsoft for the shortage of PS5 is due to short supply of microprocessors used to build them. It is estimated that PlayStation is going to sell approx 30-40 million units across the globe. It will be interesting to see if they will be able to speed up the manufacturing process.

Any which ways fans are fans and want to get their hands on the latest console. Even Sony faced such situation when they launched their Xbox Series X|S. Even when they have sold much less number of units as compared to Playstation.

PlayStation Faces Backlash Over PS5 Success Tweet

PlayStation 5 was launched last year on 12th, November. Since then PlayStation has sold 10 million PS5’s and they wanted to celebrate and thank fans for this feat. PlayStation tweeted about this feat and thanked followers. But guess what, fans had different plans.

The tweet received a mixed response as a large number of fans were outraged that they weren’t able to get their hands on the new PS5. Most of the angry fans claimed that most of these units are sold to scalpers. One of the most retweeted replies says “This is such an arrogant tweet.” Read the tweet in the screenshot below.

Another fan alleged that PlayStation allowed bots, and let Walmart and GameSpot to book all those PS5’s and fans were left empty handed.

Here are few other fans who had the same reaction. Most of the fans complained that they can’t actually buy one, and haven’t seen one in their friend circle of where the hell did these 10 million units went?
