Android 12 stable update tipped to release on October 4

Last week,  US search engine giant Google released the fifth beta build of Android 12 for Pixel phones. The company says  that we should expect Android 12 stable version update to launch in just a few weeks from now, but didn’t gave a firm date. Now, there is evidence pointing to what the tentative launch date of the Android 12 stable update for Pixel phones.

Android 12 Release Date

According to this document, Google will publish the source code for Android 12 on October 4, 2021. This source code will be published on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) Gerrit, and it will very likely coincide with the release of the Android 12 stable update for Pixel phones, if we go by the history.

Android 12 features

Android 12 is going to bring a major revamp to the visual look and feel of the operating system. The update will feature a new Material You design language that will focus on personalisation. Also baked into the new update will be a new Privacy Dashboard.  This will act as a one-stop destination for tuning all permissions and privacy-related settings.

Other new additions in the features include a redesigned lock screen, clock app, notification tray and quick settings toggles. Faster animations and motions across the user interface are also part of the package.
