PlayStation 5 October restock: where to pre-order PS5, price and more

PlayStation 5 October restock happened today at 12 PM IST in India. Both variants of Sony’s latest generation gaming console — standard and digital —are up on pre-orders in the country.  Sony launched the PlayStation 5 Standard and Digital Edition globally in November last year. These gaming consoles were released in India in February earlier this year.

For the unaware, this is the eighth time since the official launch earlier this year that the PlayStation 5 will go on pre-orders in India. However, it is the fifth restock of PlayStation 5 Digital Edition.

Considering the demand for PS5 has always been high, past instances can repeat during today’s restock as well. There have been many issues with PlayStation 5 restocks in India since the first pre-order earlier this year. The same may happen this time as well. There have been instances wherein retailers merchants websites including Amazon and Flipkart were not been able to handle the massive demand which led to the cancellation of several orders.

As far as pricing is concerned, the PlayStation 5 Standard Edition comes at Rs 49,990. The Digital Edition comes at a price of Rs 39,990. The Sony Center website states that the gaming console will be delivered on October 12. Other retailers have not revealed shipping details yet.

Samsung Galaxy F42 5G price in India starts at Rs 20,999 for the 6GB/128GB storage model. There is an 8GB/128GB storage version as well which comes at a cost of Rs 25,999.

The handset will be available for purchase during the Flipkart Big Billion Days sale starting October 2. Consumers can also buy it from Samsung’s official website, and retail stores across the country.

Samsung has listed a special introductory price of Rs 17,999 for the 6GB variant and Rs 19,999 for the 8GB version. E-commerce company Flipkart has also listed a few offers that include- no-cost EMI starting from Rs 902 a month.

 

Samsung cancelled launch of Galaxy S21 FE

However, as per the latest reports Samsung has cancelled the launch of Galaxy S21 FE due to the ongoing chip shortage. It is now reported that the smartphone could be cancelled.

According to South Korean publication D Daily, Samsung is planning to cancel the Galaxy Unpacked October 2021 event where the company had to announce the Galaxy S21 FE. The event was earlier planned for mid-October. But the Galaxy Z Flip 3 received a great response from the public and higher than expected sales. There have also been news of the semiconductor chip shortage. Therefore, reportedly Samsung has cancelled the launch of the Galaxy S21 FE. The company reportedly wants to focus on the Galaxy Z Flip 3.

The Galaxy Z Flip 3 is reportedly selling extremely well and Samsung is unable to keep the production in sync with the orders. Moreover, the Galaxy S21 FE  would use the Snapdragon 888 chipset in most of the markets. This chip has serious availability issues and its price has gone up as well. The company even reportedly tried to reduce the cost of the display and the design to make up for the price of the chipset.

As per  information, the Galaxy S21 FE features a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Along with that it also features a 32MP selfie camera, and a 12MP triple-camera setup at the rear. The device uses the Snapdragon 888 processor, 8GB RAM, and 128GB/256GB internal storage. Other features include an IP68 rating and a 4,500mAh battery with 25W fast charging.
